Reducing landfill, improving lives
InstaFloor partners with organisations in other countries to recycle old vehicle tyres and reduce landfill. In South Africa, InstaFloor SA Pty works in partnership with Van Dyck: our commitment to recycling and re-using materials is contributing to healthier lives, and preventing issues caused by tyre dumps.
Recycling worn vehicle tyres in South Africa:
- Prevents hazardous waste and reduces landfill, reducing environmental impact.
- Reduces deadly outbreaks of disease. Tyre dumps can become infested with rodents which spread illness. Discarded tyres also collect stagnant water, a breeding ground for mosquitoes and contagion.
- Stops tyre fires breaking out, which can lead to black smoke, polluted air, and contaminated water courses and soil.
- Creates local employment.
- Produces useful new recycled products such as acoustic underlay and gym flooring.
Innovation for the environment
We are leading the way with our development of adhesive-free flooring and dry adhesive systems. These use no messy adhesives or noxious glues. They are non-toxic, contributing to healthier indoor air quality, and support resource efficiency and reduced environmental impact in flooring. Our ‘no wet glue’ solutions make re-lifting and re-using floor coverings faster and easier – and make flooring materials more recyclable.
